Learn to Use Model Portfolios for Long-Term Investing

With Investing/ Model Portfolios, you can view the performance of passive portfolios. You can receive timely alerts with each re-allocation. Re-allocations are infrequent. Here are the steps:

Step 1. Review Model Portfolios' past performance for free.

Step 2. Select any Model Portfolio you might be interested in based on their performance.

Step 3. Subscribe and follow one or more Model Portfolio.

Step 4. Sign up for 1-on-1 sessions or webcasts if you have any questions.

What are Model Portfolios, and How do they Work?

Model portfolios are most suitable for investors focused on long-term investment with infrequent position rebalancing. On, you can find a large selection of portfolios of any investment style and levels of risk. Moreover, any user can use their investment ideas and experience to create their portfolio and sell it to other users or share it for free.

On the module’s main page, you can find a wide selection of tools that allow you to find the most suitable portfolio for your investment goals. For example, you can sort the available portfolios by annualized return, the number of positions, days since publication, monthly fee, or title. You can also sort them using Divscore - a proprietary method for assessing the quality of portfolio diversification using Artificial Intelligence.

On the left side of the Model portfolios page are several toggle buttons and bars which can help you find the profile portfolios according to your preferences. Set up any or all options to optimize: annualized return percentages, the presence of penny stocks, the number of positions (tickers), filter by specific ticker or market value. Using the advanced filter, you can conduct a more detailed search by risk value, volatility, maximum drawdown, and beta to the S&P500.

After choosing one of the portfolios, you can view more detailed information, including the full performance chart since publication, the complete description, current market value, and basic metrics. To do this, click on the title and go to the portfolio page.

If you decide to subscribe, click the "Subscribe" button on the portfolio page or the "Buy" button on the portfolio card in the Marketplace. You may need to set up your Buyer account if the selected portfolio is not free. You can do this on the "Payment Profile" tab on your Profile page.

After subscribing, you will be redirected to the "My purchases" page, where you can see detailed information on subscriptions and payments. If you want to unsubscribe from the selected portfolio, click on its name and click the "Archive" button.

Now you can see all the available information on the selected portfolio: a complete list of all positions and their performance throughout different time intervals, the history of allocations, and their distribution by industry. You can also view additional information about the stocks included in the portfolio in our A.I. Screener using the button "View in screener.” If the seller rebalances the portfolio, then the new positions and their allocations will immediately appear on the card of the purchased portfolio.

Goals and preferences. To do this, on the portfolio page, click the "Create Editable Portfolio" button, select name, and click "Create.”

Now you have a complete copy of the purchased portfolio. If the seller makes a new allocation, it can be applied using the "Explore" button. You can also make any changes you want - add new tickers and remove old ones, and change each position’s share in the portfolio. To do this click on “CREATE” under DIY Next Investment, and edit your changes, this will be applied to the actual stock market using the "Next Investment Order.” In addition, you have a unique opportunity to reallocate your portfolio using our proprietary Divscore algorithm. Finally, click on the "Get advice" button and get a recommendation on how to improve your portfolio based on our A.I. algorithms.

Important note: AI investment recommendations depend on the portfolio parameters you choose -the universe of securities (Stocks, ETFs, Mutual Funds), the level of risk (Conservative, Moderate, Aggressive), and years until you plan to withdraw some money. You can change these parameters in the "Portfolio settings" section to get the most suitable recommendations for your investment goals. Also, you can simply compare the current state of your portfolio in comparison with the “purchased” by clicking on the button "Compare with Marketplace.”

The portfolio overview page contains many useful information and features to help you make good investment decisions. Use the "Metrics" to view a detailed portfolio assessment, including an assessment of the quality of allocation and selection based on A.I. algorithms. In the "Gains," you can see the Profit / Loss of your portfolio for different time intervals. You can make a PDF copy of portfolio metrics and positions using the "Report" button.

Using the blue panel on the right side of the page, you can transfer tickers from your portfolio to any other module of our site - Screener, Paper Trades, Trend Prediction Engine, or Pattern Search Engine.

Also on the left side of the page are several blocks with the most detailed information on all aspects of your portfolio. For example, you can edit settings, including the risk level, on the "Portfolio settings" tab, set up personal alerts settings.
You can also view information about the costs of maintenance ("Expense Ratios" tab) and detailed data on the financial performance of companies whose shares are included in the portfolio - "Fundamentals."

To see the current performance chart of your portfolio, click on the "Actual performance" block on the left side menu. In addition, you have an advantageous opportunity to see the dynamics of your portfolio performance in the past using the "Past Modeled Performance" block. Tickeron has a large base of End of Day Prices for thousands of assets over the past ten or more years, which allows you to model the most optimal portfolio and see its dynamics over any period.
