Daimler AG has suspended operations and production of cars in Iran.
Back in 2016, the automotive corporation had decided to resume operations in Iran following the lifting of U.S. sanctions in exchange for Iran’s agreement to limit nuclear activity. But that stance shifted after U.S. President Donald Trump decided, in May, to withdraw from the Iran nuclear accord and reinstate the sanctions. On Tuesday, Daimler confirmed that it wants to hold off production and sales in Iran "until further notice according to applicable sanctions."
