NCR Voyix continues its shift from hardware sales toward a software, services, and payments platform aimed at retailers and restaurants. This makes each quarter’s numbers particularly telling, as investors assess whether recurring software growth can offset the planned hardware revenue decline. The latest results indicate commercial progress through higher contract signings, even as headline revenue falls because of the hardware exit. In my view, the real test ahead is whether those bookings convert into steady, profitable revenue growth over time.
For the three months ended September 30, 2026, NCR Voyix posted total revenue of $539 million, a 20% decline from $677 million in the same period last year, mainly due to the Hardware Business Transition. Software and services revenue stayed flat at $500 million, while recurring revenue edged up to $428 million from $422 million and recurring software revenue rose to $208 million from $202 million.
Net income from continuing operations attributable to NCR Voyix reached $14 million, compared with an $18 million net loss a year earlier. GAAP diluted EPS from continuing operations improved to $0.08 from a loss of $0.15. Non-GAAP diluted EPS increased 7% to $0.32 from $0.30 and beat consensus estimates. Adjusted EBITDA fell 2% to $120 million from $123 million amid higher corporate costs.
The company kept its full-year 2026 guidance for Adjusted EBITDA of $432 million to $447 million and Non-GAAP diluted EPS of $0.89 to $0.92, though it now expects revenue toward the lower end of the $2,188 million to $2,303 million range.
Shares of VYX moved higher in early trading after the release, as investors balanced an earnings beat against softer revenue and a revised revenue outlook at the low end of prior guidance. The standout element was the sharp rise in future bookings alongside current revenue pressure, with RCV climbing notably while organic revenue excluding hardware turned negative. Pre-report sentiment had been measured, yet the contract value increase, initial Aloha Next deployment, and reaffirmed profitability targets seemed to provide reassurance despite near-term revenue softness.
The key signal remains whether the jump in Remaining Contract Value flows through to recognized revenue. Management added 10 Voyix Commerce Platform contracts in the quarter, lifting total platform customers to 35, and noted deployments running at roughly 50 stores per week. I’m watching closely to see how quickly these scale and begin lifting recurring software and payments revenue.
Margins also deserve attention. The hardware shift has lifted gross and Adjusted EBITDA margins structurally, but investors will want evidence that cost discipline and operating leverage hold once transition benefits fade.
The restaurant segment stays a near-term concern. Excluding hardware, restaurant revenue fell 5% and payment sites slipped 1% to 8,400, reflecting ongoing pressure in the small and medium-sized business base. Management expects broader Aloha Next sales to support improvement in 2027 and beyond, so the rollout pace will be an important catalyst.
