Unilever will continue to have the U.K as a headquarter.
The consumer goods behemoth has two headquarters, one in London and the other in Rotterdam. Earlier this year, the company was planning to move its headquarter out of the U.K., and have a single one in Rotterdam as part of an effort to simplify its corporate structure. Had Unilever gone ahead with the plan, it would have been designated as a Dutch company and therefore could potentially have gotten removed from London's FTSE 100 index.
However, Unilever announced the abandonment of that plan on Friday, since major shareholders did not give the go-ahead on moving headquarters out of the U.K.
