WisdomTree’s third-quarter results provide a useful test of whether a fast-growing asset manager can turn record AUM into stronger profit growth. The firm has relied on organic inflows, acquisitions such as Ceres Partners in farmland and Atlantic House in liquid alternatives, plus its tokenization efforts to broaden its platform. A profit beat alongside a modest revenue shortfall underscores the balance between robust asset gathering and a softer contribution from transaction and performance fees. From what I see, the quarter gives investors a clearer picture of whether operating leverage, diversification, and the digital-asset strategy can hold up as year-over-year comparisons grow tougher.
For the third quarter of 2026, ended September 30, WT posted operating revenues of $179.4 million, a 42.8% rise from the prior-year period yet roughly 1% below the consensus estimate of about $181 million. Adjusted net income came in at $49.5 million, or $0.32 per diluted share, exceeding the $0.30 consensus by 6.7%. On a GAAP basis, diluted earnings per share also reached $0.32.
Ending AUM climbed to a record $171 billion, up 24.7% year over year, while net inflows of $4.6 billion were led by fixed income, commodities, and U.S. equity products. The average advisory fee remained at 0.36%, and the adjusted operating margin expanded to roughly 43.1%. Management lowered the high end of its full-year discretionary spending guidance to $83–87 million, narrowed third-party distribution guidance to $21–23 million, and raised its interest income outlook to $9 million. I also checked this using Tickeron’s AI Screener to see how the stock compares to others in the industry.
The initial market response was measured. Despite the earnings beat and record AUM, WT shares slipped about 2.3% to roughly $21 shortly after the report, indicating investors focused on the modest revenue shortfall and the sequential slowdown in top-line growth. Softer spots included lower performance fees and reduced transaction fees from European exchange-traded products, which offset gains in core advisory fees. Still, the clean earnings print, expanding margins, and strong net inflows suggest the underlying business remains resilient even as sentiment around the top line stays cautious.
Looking ahead, investors will watch whether WisdomTree can maintain its organic growth rate as acquisitions annualize and year-over-year comparisons become more demanding. Management expects fourth-quarter diluted share count to range between 154 million and 160 million, partly reflecting the impact of convertible notes tied to the stock price.
On the strategy side, the company is counting on several longer-term drivers. Its tokenization initiative, including the WisdomTree Onchain rebrand and new distribution partnerships, continues to be a key theme, even though the on-chain unit still operates at a loss. The Atlantic House integration is expected to deliver 15–20 new product launches over the next 18–24 months, while the Ceres farmland business is building a pipeline of potential demand.
Costs and margins will also remain in focus. Management’s guidance adjustments point to disciplined spending, yet rising compensation, third-party distribution fees, and intangible amortization tied to acquisitions warrant attention. Fee capture and revenue yield will be closely watched as investors assess whether asset gathering continues to translate efficiently into earnings power.
