The investment seeks income by investing in inflation-linked securities. The fund advisor seeks to provide a total return that matches or incrementally exceeds the performance of Treasury Inflation Protected Securities with maturities between one and five years by providing total returns that match or incrementally exceed the total returns of the Bloomberg U.S. 1-5 Year Treasury TIPS Index. The fund normally invests at least 80% of its net assets (plus any borrowings for investment purposes) in Treasury Inflation Protected Securities and in securities that are held in the index.
