TD SYNNEX is the world's largest distributor and solutions aggregator for the information technology ecosystem, formed through the 2021 merger of SYNNEX and Tech Data. Headquartered in Clearwater, Florida, and Fremont, California, it connects technology manufacturers, software publishers, and cloud providers with more than 150,000 resellers, systems integrators, and managed service providers across over 100 countries.
The company operates through two main portfolios. Its Distribution business spans Endpoint Solutions (personal computing, mobile, and printing) and Advanced Solutions (data center, cloud, security, storage, networking, and software). Its Hyve Solutions unit designs, manufactures, and delivers traditional and accelerated compute, cloud, and connected infrastructure, positioning it at the center of the AI data-center buildout.
Investors follow SNX for its scale-driven efficiency, its leverage to global IT spending, and its expanding role in enterprise AI adoption and infrastructure modernization. I also checked this using Tickeron’s AI Screener to see how the stock compares to others in the industry.
Over the last 30 days, SNX fell roughly 11%, slipping from about $257 in late September toward the low-$220s. The stock initially extended its late-summer rally in early October before rolling over as investors digested the September earnings report and reassessed the company's margin and cash-flow trajectory.
The quarterly picture tells a fuller story. SNX climbed from about $252 in late July to a 52-week high of $298.77 on September 23, then surrendered those gains through October. Over the full quarter, the advance has been largely reversed, leaving the stock roughly flat to modestly lower despite a year-to-date gain of more than 70%.
The dominant catalyst was the fiscal Q3 2026 earnings report released on September 24. SNX delivered revenue of $21.56 billion, up 37.7% year over year, and non-GAAP earnings of $5.68 per share, up roughly 59% — both above expectations. However, gross margin contracted 61 basis points to 6.61%, and free cash flow swung from positive $213.9 million a year earlier to negative $975.6 million as inventories rose to $15.3 billion. The Hyve segment's operating margin narrowed to 3.61% from 5.04%, reflecting the dilutive effect of large AI rack programs. The shares dropped about 8% to 9% following the report.
Analyst activity was mixed. Morgan Stanley maintained an Overweight rating but lowered its price target from $374 to $334, while Barclays kept an Equal-Weight rating and raised its target from $278 to $287. J.P. Morgan maintained a Buy rating with a $350 price target. Net ETF outflows and insider selling filings added to near-term pressure, even as positive developments — including Cisco distributor-of-the-year honors and new AI and space-technology initiatives — underscored the company's commercial momentum.
During the summer, SNX rode a powerful AI-infrastructure theme to its 52-week high. Expanding partnerships — including IBM's distribution relationship into 20 additional countries and an agreement to support a large NVIDIA AI factory — plus a seven-year Amazon warrant agreement reinforced investor confidence in the Hyve growth story. Record demand in both Distribution and Hyve drove the shares higher into late September.
The October reversal reflected a shift in focus from top-line growth to profitability and cash generation. As the market weighed the capital intensity of hyperscale AI fulfillment and the margin dilution from large manufacturing programs, investors took profits after the stock's steep run, sending shares back toward levels seen before the September surge.
Investors are likely to focus on several factors in the quarters ahead. The company guided fourth-quarter revenue of $21.8 billion to $22.6 billion and non-GAAP earnings of $5.65 to $6.15 per share; results are expected around January 2027. Key watch items include Hyve's margin trajectory, free-cash-flow conversion as AI rack programs mature, and the pace of new program ramps.
Beyond earnings, the durability of enterprise AI and data-center demand, the PC refresh cycle, and component pricing will shape the distribution business. Macroeconomic variables — including tariffs, interest rates, and currency movements — and competitive pressures across the IT distribution landscape also remain relevant. Analysts' consensus price target sits near $340, reflecting expectations for continued growth even as the market weighs profitability trade-offs. From what I see, this balance between growth and execution will be critical to monitor.
