SNDQ is a leveraged, inverse single-stock ETF launched in April 2026 and managed under the Tradr brand by AXS Investments. It does not track a broad index. Instead, it aims to deliver twice the inverse of the daily return of SNDK, Sandisk Corporation, a pure-play manufacturer of NAND flash memory used in solid-state drives, smartphones, and data centers.
Because the fund targets a single underlying company, its portfolio is effectively concentrated rather than diversified. Holdings consist primarily of swap and derivative exposure to Sandisk, together with cash and other collateral. The expense ratio is 1.49%. This structure means SNDQ's entire risk profile is driven by one variable: the daily direction of Sandisk's share price, multiplied by -2.
That concentration explains the ETF's extreme recent behavior. When Sandisk rallies, SNDQ falls at roughly twice the daily pace; when Sandisk declines, SNDQ rises at roughly twice the daily pace, with daily resetting causing returns over periods longer than one day to diverge from a simple -2x multiple of the stock's cumulative change. I also checked this using Tickeron’s AI Screener to see how the fund compares to others in the leveraged products space.
Over the last 30 days, SNDQ rose approximately 93%, from about $11.05 to $21.33. The move was not linear: the fund traded in a wide range as Sandisk oscillated on competing news around memory pricing and AI demand before breaking decisively higher in the final sessions of October and early November.
The trailing three-month picture is more mixed. From roughly $27.80 in early August, SNDQ fell below $10 by late September as Sandisk climbed to a September peak near $1,887, then rebounded sharply as Sandisk reversed lower into early November. Net of that round trip, SNDQ was down about 23% over the trailing quarter, underscoring how volatile and trend-dependent a daily-reset inverse product can be.
SNDQ's 30-day surge was a mirror image of a roughly 34% decline in SNDK, with the fund's 2x inverse leverage and daily compounding amplifying the move beyond the simple -2x of the stock's fall.
The decisive catalyst arrived with Sandisk's fiscal first-quarter report. The company posted record results—revenue rose 378% year over year to $11.03 billion, and adjusted earnings per share (EPS) reached $49.51, above guidance—yet the stock fell roughly 13.5% in the following session. Investors focused instead on deceleration in NAND price growth: partner Kioxia reported that average selling prices rose in the mid-20% range in the September quarter, down from roughly 70% the prior quarter, and guided for essentially flat prices next quarter.
Broader sentiment compounded the pressure. Fears that Chinese memory makers such as CXMT could add supply, questions about the sustainability of AI-related capital spending, and a downward revision of Sandisk's fair value estimate all weighed on the stock. For SNDQ, each down day in Sandisk translated into an outsized up day in the fund, culminating in a two-session advance into early November.
The trailing quarter illustrates the two-sided nature of SNDQ. In August and September, Sandisk shares rallied on AI data-center demand for enterprise solid-state drives and surging flash prices, pushing the inverse fund sharply lower. That trend reversed in October, when competition concerns and evidence of moderating price growth triggered a broad rotation out of high-flying memory and storage names.
Institutional positioning and profit-taking amplified the swings. Sandisk had appreciated several hundred percent in 2026 before the pullback, leaving substantial gains vulnerable once the pricing narrative softened. Because SNDQ resets its -2x exposure daily, the fund captured the acceleration of Sandisk's late-period decline while also suffering the whipsaw of the stock's earlier rally, leaving the three-month result below where the period began.
Tickeron's AI Screener is an AI-powered stock and ETF discovery platform that helps investors scan thousands of securities using technical indicators, fundamentals, volatility metrics, price patterns, industry filters, AI-generated signals, and performance characteristics. Rather than reviewing candidates one at a time, users can apply customizable criteria to surface securities matching specific trading or investment styles, including leveraged and inverse products such as SNDQ. The screener is designed to support more efficient idea generation and research across sectors and themes. In my own process, I find the AI Screener a useful complement to existing analysis when evaluating names like this one.
The outlook for SNDQ remains tied almost entirely to the path of SNDK, the memory cycle, and the mechanics of daily-reset leverage. Investors should monitor whether NAND pricing stabilizes, keeps decelerating, or turns negative, since memory equities have historically peaked when price growth peaks rather than when prices themselves peak.
Supply and demand dynamics will be central. Planned capacity expansion by Sandisk and Kioxia, the pace of AI data-center and hyperscaler capital spending, and any incremental supply from Chinese manufacturers could all influence sentiment. Sandisk's upcoming 8-for-1 stock split and its next quarterly results are notable corporate events, though a split does not change the company's underlying value.
Finally, holders should understand the structural risks unique to SNDQ. Daily resetting creates volatility drag and compounding effects, meaning returns over weeks or months can diverge materially from -2x the stock's cumulative change, and losses can be amplified when the underlying moves against the fund's position. These factors, rather than any single price level, will shape SNDQ's behavior in the months ahead.
