User accounts of Dunkin’ mobile order and pay app 'DD Perks' may have been hacked.
The doughnut chain’s parent company Dunkin’ Brands revealed on Thursday that while it did not have a cyber security breach, third parties possibly got access to some customers’ usernames and passwords from other companies' breaches and then used that information to access some DD Perks accounts.
Dunkin’ has forced a password reset for all customers potentially affected by the infiltration. The company told CNBC that "only a small percent" of accounts were possibly affected. It also advised customers to avoid re-using password from other online accounts.
