EchoStar Corporation, the parent of DISH Network, Boost Mobile, Sling TV and Hughes Network Systems, is no longer the heavily indebted satellite-and-wireless operator many investors remember. Following multibillion-dollar spectrum sales and a 2023 merger with DISH, the company changed its Nasdaq ticker from SATS to ECHO in June 2026, and Wall Street has begun re-rating the shares accordingly. I also checked this using Tickeron’s AI Screener to see how the stock compares to others in the industry.
Across seven individually verifiable analyst price targets, the arithmetic mean works out to about $136.86, which rounds to a central target of $137. The targets reviewed are: New Street Research at $161 (May 2026), UBS at $150 (September 2026), J.P. Morgan at $144 (October 2026), Deutsche Bank at $137 (July 2026), Morgan Stanley at $134 (September 2026), Citigroup at $117 (August 2026), and Raymond James at $115 (July 2026). The low-to-high range is therefore $115 to $161.
Views differ sharply. J.P. Morgan analyst Sebastiano Petti, relaunching coverage with an Overweight rating and a $144 target, argued EchoStar now trades at roughly a 40% discount to estimated net asset value and described the company as effectively "an investment company" whose chief asset is a future stake of about 261.8 million SpaceX shares. Morgan Stanley, also Overweight with a $134 target, framed EchoStar as an attractive discounted way to own SpaceX. UBS, which upgraded the stock to Buy with a $150 target, sits at the more optimistic end, while Raymond James and Citigroup hold the more cautious targets in the $115–$117 zone. The spread illustrates that, even among bulls, estimates of EchoStar's asset value vary widely.
With shares recently changing hands near $86.50, the $137 central target implies upside of approximately 58%, which should be characterized as a very large move rather than a modest step. It is important to stress that this is an average analyst price target, not a guarantee or a published consensus.
The path to $137 depends heavily on whether investors begin pricing EchoStar's underlying assets more fully. The company agreed to sell roughly $20 billion of wireless spectrum licenses to SpaceX in a transaction slated to close around late 2027, receiving about $8.5 billion in cash and a large block of SpaceX shares, and separately sold spectrum rights to AT&T (T) for about $23 billion. These deals reduced balance-sheet risk substantially and reframed EchoStar as a holder of a hard-to-access asset: a sizable stake in a privately demanded, fast-growing space company.
EchoStar's share price has appreciated dramatically from the single digits in 2024, so the stock is in a pronounced long-term uptrend with limited historical overhead supply near current levels. The $115 area, where Raymond James placed its target, sits just above current levels and may act as an initial psychological zone, while the round $100 level could serve as a near-term reference point on any pullback. Because the stock's recent history has been driven largely by news flow around the SpaceX stake rather than classic technical structure, these levels are best viewed as approximate reference points rather than precise support and resistance. From what I see, I’m watching this closely for any shifts in momentum.
Analyst price targets generally reflect a research horizon of about 12 months, though individual firms may differ, and no explicit horizon was disclosed in several of the notes reviewed. Investors tracking the $137 figure should watch for updates on the SpaceX spectrum transaction and its regulatory progress, any further spectrum monetization or M&A announcements, changes to the estimated value of the SpaceX stake, quarterly results and guidance for the remaining satellite and wireless businesses, and revisions to analyst targets — which have been moving higher as coverage expands.

Reaching $137 would require EchoStar shares to advance roughly 58% from recent levels — a very large move that hinges on investors closing the gap between the stock's market price and the estimated value of its SpaceX stake and other assets. The central target is the average of seven analyst targets spanning $115 to $161, and while several recent upgrades reflect growing confidence in the asset-value story, the wide range underscores how subjective that valuation remains. Supporters point to balance-sheet repair, additional spectrum monetization, and a discounted SpaceX exposure, while skeptics highlight concentration risk, deal-completion uncertainty, and a still-declining legacy business. The outcome will likely be determined less by quarterly earnings than by developments in the SpaceX transaction and any further value-unlocking announcements.
