Logitech International (LOGI), the Swiss designer and maker of computer peripherals, keyboards, mice, webcams, and gaming gear, has shown steady expansion through a tough consumer-electronics environment. The fiscal 2027 second quarter, covering the three months ended September 30, 2026, provides a useful test of whether the company can maintain its growth streak into the holiday period while handling margin pressures and an unexpected supply issue. I am also watching how LOGI balances ongoing investments with its capital-return program, which continues to appeal to income-oriented investors. The results and guidance give a clear signal on demand in Gaming, Video Collaboration, and Pointing Devices.
Logitech reported second-quarter net sales of $1.22 billion, up 3% in U.S. dollars and 2% in constant currency from the prior-year period. GAAP gross margin reached 44.9%, an increase of 150 basis points year over year, while non-GAAP gross margin was 45.2%, up 140 basis points. GAAP operating income rose 5% to $201 million, and non-GAAP operating income edged up 0.4% to $231 million, which management noted came in ahead of expectations.
On the bottom line, GAAP EPS was $1.25, up 9%, while non-GAAP EPS was $1.51, up 4%. The non-GAAP result beat the consensus estimate of roughly $1.30, and revenue of $1.22 billion slightly exceeded the approximately $1.21 billion analysts had projected. Cash flow from operations totaled $164 million, and the quarter-ending cash balance stood at $1.51 billion. Logitech also returned $406 million to shareholders through its annual dividend and share repurchases.
By category, Gaming revenue grew 8% year over year to $349 million, while Video Collaboration rose 12% to $188 million. Keyboards & Combos and Pointing Devices each grew 4%. Webcams declined 9% and Tablet Accessories fell 32% against a tough prior-year comparison from a large education contract.
Despite the earnings beat, LOGI shares declined roughly 5.7% in after-hours trading. The drop reflected investor focus on third-quarter guidance rather than the second-quarter results. The company noted a serious incident at a semiconductor supplier’s facility that closed the plant at the end of June, leaving production capacity below required levels. Although the facility reopened in September and is ramping up, management does not expect full production until the end of the calendar year.
Guidance was mixed. Logitech expects Q3 net sales between $1.36 billion and $1.43 billion, or U.S.-dollar growth of -4% to +1% and constant-currency growth of -5% to 0%. The range includes an estimated $70 million to $80 million negative impact from the supplier incident. The midpoint of the revenue outlook was above the analyst consensus of about $1.30 billion, but the supply-chain detail appeared to weigh on sentiment.
Logitech’s near-term path depends on how quickly its semiconductor supplier returns to full capacity. Management expects the disruption to be largely resolved by the fourth quarter of fiscal 2027, which should limit longer-term effects. The company guided third-quarter non-GAAP operating income to a range of $220 million to $255 million, indicating that profitability should stay resilient even as revenue faces temporary pressure.
Beyond supply issues, demand trends across core categories remain important. Gaming and Video Collaboration posted the strongest growth, and the company launched 19 new products ahead of the holiday season. Whether this pipeline translates into sustained revenue gains, particularly in the Americas, will help determine holiday-quarter performance. Margin execution is another area to monitor, as gross-margin expansion has supported earnings growth through product mix and cost discipline. Capital allocation stays in focus given the $406 million returned to shareholders in one quarter and the company’s substantial net cash position.
