Meta (META, $170.39) launches AI platform LLaMA

Meta Platform Inc. CEO Mark Zuckerberg has launched the AI platform LLaMA (Large Language Model Meta AI), that aims to help researchers in AI with the help of a state-of-the-art foundational large language model. The technology has the potential to solve math problems or perform scientific research, as indicated by Meta.

According to Meta, the AI will range in sizes from 7 billion parameters to 65 billion parameters.

LLaMA has not been incorporated into any of Meta’s products (e.g. Facebook and Instagram).

Meta also addressed some challenges, such as the risks of bias, toxic comments, and hallucinations in large language models. “Like other models, LLaMA shares these challenges,” the company mentioned on its platform.
