Walmart  plans to hire 20,000 workers in the face of  an expected increase in online demand this holiday season. The retail behemoth said that job applicants are expected to start immediately.The hired workers will pack and ship online orders at Walmart’s e-commerce fulfillment centers .
GoodRx  soared in its debut trading Wednesday on the Nasdaq. Online real estate database company Zillow   said that it would open a brokerage firm in January. On Friday, Unity Software's   initial public offering led to a more than $13 billion valuation for the company that specializes in software tools for videogame designers.Shares pulled back a bit later, but still ended the first trading session up +31.4% at $68.35.  
Charles Schwab provided a third-quarter revenue update that was below investors’ expectations. The financial services company said sharply lower long-term interest rates propelled faster prepayments on the mortgage-backed securities within its investment portfolio, and that led to the company’s net interest margin getting squeezed.As a result, its third-quarter revenue is "slightly lower" than its second-quarter result, according to the company. Chief Financial Officer Peter Crawford said that Schwab has "taken steps to mitigate prepayment risk by reshaping our investment portfolio over recent years to include significantly expanded allocations to less-prepayable securities," .

Electric carmaker Tesla’s shares got a price target hike from Piper Sandler analyst Alex Potter. Citing Tesla’s  Energy segment and  Elon Musk's compensation as “two poorly-understood aspects of Tesla's business” , Potter  has raised his price target on Tesla stock from $480 per share to $515 per share while reiterating an overweight rating on the shares. According to Potter, Tesla Energy is a topic "everyone tries to avoid" due to the lack of inclusion of the business line in many analysts' estimates.However, Piper Sandler feels that the business has significant growth potential and offers upside to Tesla's valuation.
That gives it a market valuation of $2.17 billion, based on the shares outstanding listed in its filings.  The company reported a loss of -$1.93 a share for the six months ended July 31; that is narrower compared to the loss of -$2.13 a share in the year-earlier first half.Revenue surged +38% to $96.6 million from $70.2 million.      
Accenture  announced that is is forming a $3 billion investment - Accenture Cloud First. Amazon.com  is  reportedly planning to build 1,000 small delivery hubs in cities and suburbs across the U.S., in trying to make online shopping even faster. A Bloomberg report, citing people familiar with the plans, mentioned that the e-commerce giant was planning to make mini versions of its massive fulfillment centers, in a bid to compete with  Walmart  Target   and other retailers. As COVID-19 pandemic wreaked havoc, Amazon was compelled to  withdraw its two-day delivery system as the lockdown led to a surge in online orders posing a challenge to Amazon’s delivery capacity. But now, Amazon is looking to get back to its same day delivery pledge for Prime subscribers. The acquisition is expected to bolster Gilead’s cancer portfolio. Gilead’s tender offer includes buying all the outstanding shares of Immunomedics for $88 per share, which implies a premium of about 108% over their closing price on Friday. Through the deal, Gilead will have access to Immunomedics’ breast cancer treatment drug Trodelvy, which was granted an accelerated FDA approval in April.The tumor types are aggressive and tough to treat. “This acquisition represents significant progress in Gilead’s work to build a strong and diverse oncology portfolio,” Gilead Chief Executive Officer Daniel O’Day said in a statement.
Bed Bath & Beyond  appointed Juan Guerrero to lead its supply-chain operations. Guerrero becomes senior vice president and chief supply-chain officer at the home goods retail company.Before joining Bed Bath, Guerrero led the supply-chain and merchandising teams at distributor of truck equipment Fleet Pride.
